Walk 6 - Pen yr ole Wen and Carnedd Dafydd

Date - 14-04-2012

I decided to take a trip to the Ogwen valley today with my route of choice being the scramble up Pen yr ole Wen's eastern ridge which is a nice short scramble with some fantastic views all the way up. From the top of Pen yr ole wen I travelled north along the ridge to Carnedd Dafydd. From the summit I made my way back down the steep scree slopes to Ffynnon Lloer. I cannot recommend this decent as it is incredibly steep and i will most definitely not be doing it a second time.

The route was fairly busy i think due to being school holidays but with patches of snow still o the ground and cloud free summits it was a fantastic days walk with spectacular views over to the Glyderau.
